One Day in Brooklyn: Cafes, Street Art, and the Bushwick Collective [SLIDESHOW]

I was off work today for Veteran’s Day and decided to make an adventure of it by trekking over to Brooklyn which, I’m sad to say, I’ve visited probably less than a dozen times since moving to New York in January. I’d really enjoyed looking at street art during my recent trip to Seattle and Portland and wanted to check out the New York scene. So I spent the better part of the afternoon wandering around the Bushwick Collective — and it did not disappoint. I then took a short subway ride to Williamsburg and walked up Kent Ave./Franklin St. to Greenpoint, popping into a couple of bookstores and cafes along the way.

It boggles my mind how much of this city I have yet to explore. I’m excited to see what’s next.

Tim’s Highlights:

Neighborhoods: Bushwick, Williamsburg, Greenpoint
Cafes/Bakeries: KÁVÉ Espresso BarThe Bakeshop by Woops!, Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop
Other: The Bushwick Collective, East River State Park
